Longview's Japanese Garden
Yesterday I took the time to walk to the lake in Longview.
Longview is a beautiful town. It has a bad rep, because it is a mill town - the mills make the air smell bad. And the industrial area is what people see when they drive by it on I-5, or through it on their way to the beach. But the good part of town - the part by the lake - is beautiful.
Well, I walked to the lake - Lake Sacagawea. It is a park in the center of the city. It has grassy banks, paths, docks, water irises by the lake, and I saw a Japanese Garden on an island in the lake. I was amazed - I've worked in the town for a year, and I didn't know they had a Japanese Garden. While I was looking at the garden yesterday, I saw movement in the water. A river otter was playing around in the lake. I'd never seen a un-zooed river otter. So I was even more amazed.
Today, I came back with a camera. As a result, I can show you some of the beautiful parts of Longview, which is certainly worth a visit. Check it out!
