Ridgefield by boat

LCC was GOING to have a paddling day at skamokawa, WA, but it didn't happen because we've had some email issues and coordination issues. But I was counting on going kayaking. So, One fellow employee had told me there was kayaking at the Ridgefield Wildlife Refuge, and I found it.
I went on a guided kayak, which is good because it was really slow, and so am I. And because there were other people around to see things, because I only see what I see.

Now, I would have seen the heron anyway. THere were lots of them. And, I didn't know it but heron have red shoulders, and long breast feathers, but on the water we got up REALLY close.

However, I would NOT have seen the eagles - two of them - because they were quiet and not at eye level.

I didn't have a very good camera, and my photographer (me) was not too skilled, but I have a few pics, and it was fun. I also met someone who might go kayaking with me another time - like in the spring, when the place opens up again. It will be closed in 2 weeks, because the water gets cold and it's not a good idea to kayak when it is cold. But come spring - new things will happen.
