I cannot identify this bird. I don't think it's a black swan. I don't think it's a scoter. I don't know. We saw it at klineline pond in early spring.

Not so much Valentine's Day.

Well, I didn't do anything about Valentine's day. But Bob did - he got me this great big box of candy, and they were TRUFFLES. I haven't finished them, but they're really good. It's good that i'm going to work tomorrow, so that I won't continue to get fatter and fatter until I burst.

But I did make a fancy dinner. And, I even picked flowers! We have some already. The forsythia is thinking about blooming, but the myrtle/vinca really IS blooming, and the thornapple is thinking about it, and I found some violets. So, here's a picture of the flowers from the table. Which made it look nice.

We went for a coupla walks yesterday. One was to burnt bridge greenway, and we saw this pair of robins chasing each other, and we saw evidence of beaver. Some logs were chewed in the distinctive pointy-middled way beavers chew. And there were so many birds, so much birdsong!

The other walk was to CASEE, just because the sun was shining. However, just when we got there, it clouded over. While we were walking around the pond, the skies opened up. When the skies open, you have a choice of the sun shining or the rain falling out the bottom. We got the second option. So, we were drenched. But, by the time we got back to the car and onto the way home, the sun came out again.

And today was the first dress rehearsal for Alice in Wonderland. Although I do not have pictures of the gryphon, because I had to run around fixing costumes of other kids, and sew and patch, I do have some pictures of the 2 of clubs. I'll see whether the gryphon is available the next time I have a camera.
