I seem not to be the only one who has discovered Squirrel. Last week, I came downstairs to hear Bob talking and talking.

No, you won’t find one there, don’t be silly. Oops - you DID find one. So what do you want to do - rebury it?

Oh yeah, dig that hole. No, a little bigger, a little deeper. Be sure to waggle your tail as you do it. No, a little more - that’s right, get your whole body in the hole, to be sure it’s big enough. Good job.
Now, plop in that peanut. Pull down the dirt - pat, pat, pat. Pull down some more, that’s not enough. You’ve got to put some muscle into this. Pull down more dirt, that’s right, pat, pat, pat.
Check around - be sure the Jay isn’t watching - good, the coast is clear. Nah, pull in more dirt. Pat it all around. Now, scratch up the surface everywhere around there, that’s right, make it clear that no one has been messing around with the dirt. Good Job!

Observing Squirrel this time, with no Jay watching, makes me wonder if perhaps he’s just stupid, and not a double agent. However, as Soren pointed out, he could be a triple agent.

And I also wonder if he’ll ever find the nut again.
